nice buns

This week I am incandescent with rage!!!!! After a lengthy battle with carbohydrates... I lost and gave in to great door stops of crusty fresh bread laden with butter so deep you I could see my teeth marks in it, wrapped around big fat greasy chips. How come it takes three weeks to lose three poxy pounds and three minutes to put them back on with interest. That is a regular event in the life of my troubled waistline and was not the reason for my rage, oh no, my GP was the reason for my incandescence! I visited the doctor with a number of niggely little ailments I have been noting recently and took the opportunity during my week off to discuss them with the nice lady doctor. The nice lady doctor turned out to be not quite so nice. I don't know if doctors are allowed to be mean to their patients but whatever it was it provoked a vicious verbal attack ... she told me, and I qoute "these things happen to A WOMAN OF YOUR AGE" I could not believe that someone in a caring profession could be so cruel but she went on "...at YOUR TIME OF LIFE." I was there for a long time while she wittered on about "bla, bla, bla menopause, bla, bla thyroid, bla, bla change of life, bla, weight gain bla, bla, bla bla..." Anyway she clearly needs striking off and I shall be telling the General Medical Council as much... as soon as she has fixed all my little ailments! Anyway it's a good job my sister came to visit she cheered me right up by telling me I didn't have the 1665 look yet (apparently thats where you look 16 from the back but nearer 65 from the front), she's so reasuring my sister!!

What a week!

OMG (as they say these days) what a week. It started off by sharing a dormatory with 49, 13 year old boys! We made them climb, ski, windsurf, sail, kayak and run around until they dropped but still they insisted on being awake and loud until stupid o clock. The most testing time however was trying to explain the method of changing in and out of a wet suit to a child with autism who could not see the logic in putting on a "wet"suit to go in the wet water, especially after he had done it all once that day and was now being asked to repeat the whole process again with an even "wetter" suit!! (the more I work with autistic children the more I can see their side of things, he's right, the world is wrong!) He also could not see the fun in staying up late and being loud and giggly when teachers knock on the door and shout "ssshhh" - I'm with him on that one too.
After a VERY brief two days off at the end of term I started packing for a Northern adventure... back to my roots, hills, dales, beer and fish and chips!! Two days in, and on a remote hillside with horizontal rain, pea soup mist and sheep for company when the southern softie car broke down (it was probably afraid and rightly so, I could have beaten it to a pulp with a stick.) "Oh ek" said the RAC man helpfully, "still could a bin worse." he couldn't however come up with a much worse scenario. "I can't fix that" he said helpfully. A short 5 hours later our broken car was on it's way back down south looking a lot happier and we were having a nice cup of tea in a garage on a scrap yard in Bradford... happy holidays!
Things have looked up considerably since then, shopping in the very civilised Leeds (we saved several hundred pounds on an eternity ring in the half price sale - bloody cheapscate husband) followed by fish, chips and mushy peas on our laps in front of t telly!

Lovely, Lovely camper

Let me tell you about my lovely, lovely camper. This is him in Ben's field in Cornwall with our lovely, lovely bunch of friends. He is sunshine yellow with sparkly paint that glitters when the sun shines (which is not very often). He smokes going down hills and chugs going up, smells of petrol fumes and lets in the rain ... and I we love him!

I am feeling this colour today, it is bright and lovely because today is officially the happiest day of the year ... and guess what I have had the best day for ages. It has been a day full of simple pleasures.
At work today my boys had a lunch together from the canteen at school, that may not sound much but for a bunch of autistic kids with a range of difficulties as wide as the widest thing you could imagine, then that is no mean feat!! It brought a tear to my eye although not to theirs ... they don't really do emotion!
Anyway that was one lovely thing.
Then in the very next lesson my (secret favourite) student went to a changed lesson in a different room about the wrong topic with a strange teacher, a tree frog, a giant snail, and a tarantula!! Then... (I realise that I am much more excited by this than is necessary but if you were there you would have been too...well maybe not!). The same student took his fingers out of his ears (thats where he usually keeps them.. really) and stroked a snake, a cockroach and a millipede called Milly!! That is quite a day at work believe me.
When I got home my lovely day got even lovelier, I got home and Zoe (my favourite daughter) had cleaned the house so I didn't have to. Kaine spoke to me without asking "whats for tea?" and the most strangest event of all... Colin came home from work early and brought me flowers and Zoe flowers.... I'm not even joking!
The whole happy families game carried on with Pizza Express for tea.
Evnets have taken a little bit of a nose dive however. The big kids ate their pizza and left without washing up and my newly reformed husband has fallen asleep in his usual Friday night ritual - hey ho!!

Family

For anyone who accidentally finds my blog - this is my family (Me, Kaine, Alfie, Zoe and Colin) .

My sister told me I was her lovely lovely sister today but she is actually the lovliest sister, she is kind and thoughtful and dead brainy and spends lots of her time saving animals and the rest of her time doing good deeds and stuff, she even spends some time at home with her husband too.

I love my sister!!

My mum is the one below and she is where we get our lovelyness from and clealy a little bit of eccentricity.
I won't show you (my imaginary bloggers) the rest of my family today, I wll save it for another day!
Hello my lovely sister (the only person who knows I have a blog and therefore the only one who reads it)
I stayed up until three o'clock in the morning this morning, dancing in a field and drinking ale, listening to music like a festival goer. It was Dubs Bands and Beer and was really fun.
The kids ran around a field full of strangers in their bare feet (the kids not the strangers) then when they got cold we let them play with the huge open bonfire! There was no health or safety going on, the toilet was a bio toilet (a hole in the ground covered by a wooden hut, that was for girls, the boys had to use the bushes).
We are all very smelly and I havn't been in the shower all day, just to get the true festival feel man!

I am feeling about this colour today, have just been to yoga class, did lots of breathing (which is always good) and some OHMing which was quite interesting. I opened my mouth wide took a deep breath and exhaled with an OOOOOOOOOOO followed by a kind of eerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and finished off with a very pleasant MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. You get a kind of vibration in your head, it is very weird but sort of enjoyable. I am a long way from "freesounding" which for some sounded a bit like an orgasm which made me feel a tad uncomfortable to say the least even if it was dark, I'm not ready for that.
Anyway Yoga was very enjoyable and is a great excuse to leave the house in a mess knowing full well that all "my" jobs will be done when I get home so as not to affect my good Karma!!!

something lovely

Today I have mostly been thinking about
lovely things, this improves my day dramatically
and shuts out the unlovely things.

This is a lovely flower picture (I took it myself)
