Sewing tin of joy!

I bought this beautiful old sewing tin from Farnham Maltings for £10. The seller said its had belonged to an elderly gentleman whose wife had died recently. He wanted it to go to someone who would use it. I wish I could tell him just how much I use it and love it. Whenever I need just the right colour, it's there. When I can't find a tape measure, it's there and when I want to just look at something that has been loved and used and treasured, it's there! Thank you to the previous owner whoever you were, your sewing box is in safe hands!

Aux Provence

Sitting on my balcony overlooking sea and mountains in wondering how harsh life can be sometimes! I'm imagining that one day I might sell up, buy a B&B on a hill with a sea view and let people pay me to stay and paint my free view! I will paint all the rooms a beautiful French grey and furnish them in beautiful old wooden furniture. Breakfast will be on the terrace, bread, jam and cheese (non of which will make you fat because they are eaten outside). In the evening I will offer a free glass of wine before my guests go out to dinner (this is when I will be at my noisiest finding out about their real lives). Then once a year, at least, I will have an open door policy for friends and family to come and stay. If I go missing in the future this is where I'll be (see photo).

A day at the zoo.

That should actually read 'A day at the other zoo'. They often say 'never work with children or animals' so today I worked with both - they definitely do not mix!
There were not many animals to be seen to be fair, those who made themselves visible looked as miserable as the weather. Unlike the 180 children from our school added to the 350 from a combination of other schools, who were definitely visible and made themselves heard too! Staff were instructed to stay with them at all times by the zoo keepers - what they thought they might do I have no idea. Most of them were more interested in mating rituals than in looking for the illusive red panda up a tree! They did not take kindly to being stalked by teachers!
Still, the last time I went to Marwell, I spent 4 hours traipsing round the zoo with my autistic charge, looked at everything ( in great depth) then just as we got back to the coach he decided he could not possibly get back on until he had retraced his steps - walking backwards!  With only 20 minutes to spare we ran the whole way round retracing our steps, him running backwards and me in advance warning oncoming traffic and pushing old ladies in wheelchairs and babies in buggies out of the way!

Long time no see

hello readers
It's been such a long time since I blogged! Mostly because I couldn't work out how to get back into my blogger account to be honest.
I have become aware in recent months that my current employment is holding me back, I spent the whole weekend in bare feet enjoying the sunshine and live music and realised that each day I go to work with the true me hidden inside sensible shoes!
